Set up in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level extension is the sole TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can include personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. Initially, just 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to secure john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased 3rd-level names remained functional.

Through our company, you can order your dot NAME domain for an interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to correct the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our firm if you receive its EPP transfer authorization code from the present domain service provider and we will renew it when the transfer has been done. There are no particular requirements on who can get a dot NAME domain, but in order to preserve the goal behind its establishment alive, the Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.
